Newcastle represent the next tough challenge for Chelsea. While the Magpies may be inconsistent away from home, they are formidable at St James’ Park. Earlier this week, they beat Fulham in the League Cup, and more broadly, they are unbeaten in their last nine home matches, winning eight of them.
That said, Newcastle are currently facing defensive issues. A series of injuries in their back line has left them vulnerable, with the team failing to keep a clean sheet in nine consecutive matches. This could be a weakness Chelsea look to exploit, and combined with their big-game mentality, the Blues may well find a way past Newcastle.
