After a surprising 1-2 defeat to Vitoria Guimaraes in the Portuguese League Cup, Sporting Lisbon quickly restored their image with a convincing 3-0 victory at Jose Alvalade in the domestic league. This result helped coach Rui Borges and his players relieve the pressure and confidently prepare for a showdown against reigning champions PSG, in a match where the Portuguese side also harbors ambitions of reaching the Round of 16.
It is worth noting that the win over Casa Pia marked Sporting Lisbonâs 12th consecutive unbeaten home match, including an impressive 11 wins and just one draw. Even more remarkable, they are currently on a nine-match winning streak at Jose Alvalade. In this seasonâs Champions League, Sporting Lisbon have won all three home matches, including a 2-1 victory over another French side, Marseille, in October 2025.
For these reasons, PSG face plenty of concerns ahead of their trip to Lisbon. Moreover, the noticeable decline of several key players has raised questions about PSGâs motivation and overall stability.

Nevertheless, the return of key attacking players such as Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé offers PSG renewed hope. The visitors can reasonably expect to score in Lisbon, although the prospect of leaving with all three points remains a big question mark.
