According to reports from The Athletic, representatives of the Brazilian forward met with Real Madrid General Director Jose Angel Sanchez and Chief Scout Juni Calafat in the Spanish capital on Wednesday to advance contract negotiations.
Discussions had previously hit a stalemate due to financial discrepancies. Vinicius had requested a package valued at approximately €30 million per season, covering basic wages, performance incentives, and a substantial renewal bonus. The renewal bonus had been the main sticking point during negotiations. However, Real Madrid's hierarchy has now raised their offer significantly to reflect the 26-year-old's pivotal role in the club's project.
The decision now rests with the Brazilian star, who currently has three choices on the table:
- Sign the newly improved contract extension with Real Madrid.
- Wait until next summer to depart as a free agent.
- Consider a transfer proposal from Premier League contenders Arsenal.
